A POLICE operation that was used to good effect to tackle anti-social behaviour carried out by teenagers in Trowbridge will be rolled out again over the summer.
Inspector Andy Fee launched Operation Albatross in the town in May, where officers, PCSO’s and the youth offending team worked together to track down troublesome individuals, aged 14-17, before speaking to their parents and telling them about the teenagers’ behaviour.
Over the month-long operation, just nine incidents of youths committing anti social behaviour was reported, down from 21 in just one weekend.
At Tuesday’s full council meeting, PC Lee Pelling confirmed the operation would return.
“We want to be proactive and clamp down on anti-social behaviour in July, August and into September,” he said.
“We’ll continue to use these successful techniques that we used before in and around Trowbridge.”
