ON top of music, dance and arts, WOMAD festival goers can enjoy its World of Words celebration.
This special event comprises poetry, talks, discussions, performances and more.
Nigerian author and singer Chibundu Onuzo opens up on her book Welcome to Lagos and will be treating audiences to a singing performance, Anbara Salam talks about her debut novel, Things Bright and Beautiful, and Sri Lankan artist and writer Roma Tearne discusses, The White City, her most recent novel.
They will joined by the likes of pianist Aeham Ahmed, who will talk about his upbringing in the Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria, comedian and writer Jess Thom, aka Touretteshero, actor James Rowland, Jamaica’s Alpha Boys School, and many more.
WOMAD’s UK home is in Charlton Park, Wiltshire, where every year, during the last weekend of July, you’ll discover a world without borders, a global fiesta of music, food, dance and art. It began back in 1982
