LOCALS have shown their support for service men and women by donating nearly 150 items to Specsavers in Warminster, which have now been collected for distribution to serving UK military personnel across the globe.
The team at the opticians in Market Place collected donations of toiletries, beverages, sweet and savoury food, treats and toys for military working dogs, entertainment items such as playing cards, puzzle books and novels.
Store director, Richard Goring, says: ‘We are all immensely thankful to our military service personnel.
"As a town that is home to a large military population, we couldn’t let Armed Forces Day go by without doing something special.
‘We amassed a host of essentials and gifts that helped to fill the morale boxes. All donations are greatly appreciated by the entire team here at Specsavers in Warminster and we’d like to thank everyone who contributed.’
