LEEKES, the independent home department store chain with an outlet in Melksham, have been named Family Business of the Year at a prestigious award ceremony organised by Family Business Place.
The family owned and managed retailer was recognised at the recent award ceremony held at London’s Wembley Stadium with Rebecca Leeke representing the company.
The National Family Business Awards is an award dedicated to family businesses from small local retailers to large manufacturing firms and are committed to creating opportunities for businesses to grow.
Emma Leeke, managing director of Leekes Retail, said: “We were totally delighted to have been announced as the regional winner for Wales at the National Family Business Awards.
“We were then absolutely thrilled when we discovered that we had been selected as the best of all the regional winners and were then unveiled as the overall national award winner.
“It’s a great honour to have been recognised on a national level in our 120th year of trading against such strong competition and we dedicate our award to the wider team at Leekes who we work alongside and who help make our business so special.”
Leekes is an independent, family owned company based in South Wales with over 120 years of trading history.
The business operates three other home department stores at Bilston in the West Midlands, Llantrisant near Cardiff, and Cross Hands in Carmarthenshire.
