STAFF and residents at Romney House in Trowbridge threw a surprise party for the care home manager to celebrate 20 years of service there.
Nicky Fairclough, Hilperton, joined the care home, in Westwood Road, as a night time care assistant, before working her way up to her current role.
And as a way to say thank you, her work colleagues put on a garden party, much to her surprise and delight.
“I am little overwhelmed by all of this,” said the 52-year-old.
“I had no idea about this party. 20 years is a long time when you think about it.
“It has been a wonderful 20 years. There have been some challenging times but I have a great team around me.
“Without a good group of staff you could not run this place well. I have a nice close relationship with the residents too.
“I hope to be able to stay here until I retire. I have no intention of moving on because there is nowhere quite like Romney House.
