TRIBUTES have flooded in for an avid parkrunner who ran at Southwick Country Park, who died on Saturday.
Former North Bradley resident Phil Morris died at the weekend after battling with stage four cancer.
Event director Sean Price said Mr Morris, who ran in the 60-64 category, was a shining example for other parkrunners as he managed to improve his five km time from around 30 minutes to under 24 minutes.
“He was an unsung hero. He showed amazing progress and must have volunteered over 100 times,” said Mr Price.
“He would come earlier than anyone to help set it up. Phil was the life and soul of what a parkrun is about.
“The world would be a better place if there were more people like Phil. The way he improved was a joy to watch.”
On the Southwick Country parkrun Facebook page, hundreds paid their respects to Mr Morris. Mr Morris moved to Scotland in May 2017.
He ran the parkrun for three years.
