Celebrations were in order yesterday at Warminster School as pupils received their A level results.
The first year of the reformed A level syllabus saw pupils achieve top grades in chemistry, art, maths and English with a record number of students gaining places at Russel group universities.
Noticeable pupils include Cassandra McCormack from Westbury who achieve A*AAB, Alexander Veitch, from Salisbury, gaining AAAA and Charles Powell from Devizes who achieved AAAB.
Several students also achieved above the national level for International Baccalaureate and diploma grades.
Headmaster, Mark Mortimer, said: “As usual, what matters most to me is that almost all of the departing pupils have worked hard, fulfilled their academic potential and leave with a clear sense of purpose, ready to pursue their interests, be that at university, an apprenticeship or via another route.
“Even more importantly, they leave the School as well-rounded, confident and decent young men and women, ready to play their part in society and serve others. I am proud of them all.”
