THE first public engagement session for Trowbridge’s neighbourhood plan will take place at the town’s carnival fair next month.

At the Trowbridge carnival fair on September 8, the town council will be in Trowbridge Park distributing neighbourhood plan to the public and helping with any queries they have.

Some of the questions include what people like about living in Trowbridge, what they dislike, what could be improved or added to, what are the most important issues, what new housing should be provided and more.

For years the town council decided against a neighbourhood plan but as its costs have fallen and with councillors feeling Wiltshire Council’s Housing Site Allocation plan, which looks for housing sites across the county, was not fulfilling the needs of Trowbridge - they decided to pursue it. Staff and councillors will be distributing questionnaires between 9.30am-4pm.
