girls in Bradford on Avon have been challenged to consider who they want to be and what they aspire to do when they grow up.

The challenge has come from the Bradford on Avon Women’s 100 Group, who have launched a new community creative project to raise the ambitions of young girls.

The challenge uses a £2 kit comprising a Suffragette paper doll and three outfits to colour and cut out.

The kits are available in Bradford on Avon library.

Town Mayor, Cllr Alex Kay, who chairs the Women’s 100 Group, said: “We have already sent out more than 30 kits and some of them have travelled outside the area.

“It has been pleasantly received and we hope to keep them going as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Suffragette Movement gaining the right to vote for some women.”

Cllr Kay helped youngsters to design outfits for their dream careers during workshops at the library during the summer holidays.

“One little girl wanted to be a trapeze artist and another a model. One even wanted to become a spy.”

All proceeds will go to the BoA Women’s 100 charities Splitz Support Service and the Malala Fund.

In parallel, the Bradford on Avon Library is compiling a book list for BoA Women’s 100 Group for both junior and adult readers.
