CASH and a car were stolen from a house in Trowbridge in the early hours of Monday morning, prompting police to issue a reminder to people about the importance of locking doors and windows in fine weather.
A house in Parklands was entered through the back door, which was unlocked.
A small amount of cash was stolen from inside the house, along with a set of car keys.
A silver Peugeot 306 parked outside the house was then stolen.
Police found the car in Rudman Park in Chippenham on Tuesday afternoon.
A 17-year-old boy from Chippenham has since been arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
He was remanded in custody and appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.
The case was adjourned and he will next appear on September 20 at Salisbury Magistrates Court.
