TENNIS hotshot Joel Brewer may be one to look out for in the future after the eight-year-old became the Wiltshire County Champion for his age group.
Joel, of Castle Mead, has been playing tennis since the age of six at Trowbridge's Westbourne Tennis Club and in a short period of time he has won all sorts of trophies across the county.
That winning run continued after he travelled to The Delta Tennis Centre in Swindon for the county tournament for children aged eight and under.
After topping his group, he went on to win his quarter-final, the semi-final and then the final, earning him an engraved shield and a gold medal.
His mother Sarah Brewer said: "He came home with a huge smile on his face, he was just beaming. It is great that he is Wiltshire County Tennis champion.
"He competed in the mini red competition, where the court is half the size. His forehand is just awesome and his favourite tennis player is Roger Federer.
"Joel has really picked it up very quickly. He wants to see how far he can get in the sport, he is quite determined. All our family play tennis so there is a good amount of competitiveness there."
The tournament took place on August 26.
