A WOMAN was taken by ambulance to the Royal United Hospital in Bath today after an incident at the Trowbridge multi-storey car park.
Wiltshire Police and the South Western Ambulance Service rushed to the car park close to Trowbridge Civic Centre following a report that a person was threatening to jump.
The 19-year-old woman, whose identity and address has not been released, is understood to have threatened to throw herself off the top of the six-storey structure.
Emergency services raced to the building at 1.30pm after being alerted by a member of the public.
Two police cars and two ambulances were called out the incident. It is understood that officers persuaded the woman to come down.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "We were called around 1.30pm after concerns for the welfare of a 19-year-old woman at a multi-storey car park in Trowbridge. Officers engaged with the woman and she was taken to a place of safety."
An ambulance service spokesman said: "We were called at around 1.40pm to attend an incident in a multi-storey car park in St Stephen’s Place, Trowbridge.
"We sent two ambulances to attend the incident. A female patient was transported by ambulance to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment."
