MULTIPLE Sclerosis sufferers took to the skies over the summer to help raise money for the therapy centre in Warminster.

Lewis Payne and Trudie Dawson, from Warminster, as well as Damien Fitchett, Katie Snook, Sacha Appelton, Jenny Barton and Andreas Wasmuht jumped from 15,000 feet at Go Skydive in Salisbury on August 27, raising over £6,000 for Wessex Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre at Bradbury House, Warminster.

Damien, Sacha, Katie and Andreas all suffer from MS and wanted to do the dive to show other sufferers that the illness should not stop them enjoying life.

Damien Fitchett, from Compton, near Salisbury, travels to therapy centre to help him manage his MS. He said: “Doing the skydive was the best experience of my life, I absolutely loved it. I want to say A big thank you to everyone who sponsored us, it felt great to be able to support the charity that does so much good for people with MS.”

The MS Therapy Centre offers long term ongoing therapies for people with MS, their families and carers. To include physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, Reflexology, counselling, massage therapy, yoga, Pilates and offers emotional and social support in a purpose-built therapy centre with a magnificent therapy garden.

The skydive team were very lucky with the weather, and once they had completed their initial training, up they went! They jumped from heights of 10,000 and 15,000 feet. They all felt the adrenalin rush and said it was an incredible experience. In fact, most of the them said that they want to do it again next year! Damien Fitchett, who lives in Compton Chamberlayne Salisbury and uses the therapy centre to help him manage his MS, said ‘Doing the skydive was the best experience of my life, I absolutely loved it.
