SHAKESPEARE Live has been associated for thirty years in the Wiltshire and Bath areas with long sunny (and sometimes not so sunny) evenings watching a beautifully-produced play in a glorious outdoor setting - as in this summer's The Merry Wives of Windsor.

But for the past few years, this local group of experienced and expert amateurs have been taking a second show to Stratford upon Avon, selected to perform there by the Royal Shakespeare Company, and then taking that play on a local tour in the autumn.

Extend that summer feeling just a bit longer by watching Shakespeare Live's This Rough Magic between September 29 and October 5, only this time indoors, at five theatres in the region.

This Rough Magic is a collection of interconnected scenes from Shakespeare's works, all concerned with magic, witchcraft, ghosts and the occult. A mix of serious, scary and funny, the piece is an original and highly-entertaining piece of theatre.

Performances all start at 8pm and are at The Cause in Chippenham on Saturday 29th, then The Mission in Bath on Sunday 30th, Swindon Arts Centre on Tuesday 2nd, The Wharf in Devizes on Thursday 4th, and finally The Pound in Corsham on Friday 5th October.

Tickets (£10; £11 for Swindon) can be obtained directly from each venue other than The Cause. There are also links on www.shakespearelive.com for all shows, and tickets should also be available on the door.
