THERE was a chance for drivers to have their cars washed by firefighters in Trowbridge, Melksham Westbury and Warminster on Saturday.
Many attended the event at the fire stations joining thousands from all over Britain to raise money for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund Chris Trimby, station manager at Warminster Fire Station in The Portway, said: "It was a successful day and the weather was smiling upon us.
"Between 80 and 100 cars were washed and we managed to raise £300."
Nick Best, crew manager at Westbury Fire Station in Meadow Lane, said: "About 60 cars were washed as well as an electric wheelchair!
"We raised about £300 and it was great to meet people from the local community and hand out leaflets on fire prevention.
"The crew really enjoyed the day that luckily had no fire shouts and would like to thank all those who turned up."
This annual event sponsored by Angus Fire raises much-needed funds for the FSNBF charity.
The proceeds will provide support for injured firefighters affected by physical and emotional trauma.
