THE Wild West is coming to west Wiltshire, thanks to the Trowbridge Amateur Operatic Society.
The group is bringing the Broadway version of Annie Get Your Gun to the stage later this month.
The story revolves around Annie Oakley, an illiterate hillbilly with a knack for shooting guns. Persuaded to join Buffalo Bill's travelling Wild West Show, she soon falls hopelessly in love with Frank Butler, the show's featured shooting ace.
But its not the first time that Buffalo Bill's travelling Wild West show has come to Trowbridge as William Cody staged an English tour of his Wild West Show in 1889 at the Show Field in Bradford Road.
Trowbridge Operatic society chose the show to complement the two productions they put on earlier this year.
They took a Gilbert and Sullivan production to the stage in May followed by High School Musical in the summer.
The group's chairman, Joan Francis, said: "We do like to put on something different and challenging. This show was chosen because it has lots of appeal to all ages.
"It's been great fun bringing it together. Everyone in the cast just loves it."
Annie Get Your Gun takes to the stage at the Civic Hall in Trowbridge on November 21-24. Tickets are available at Trowbridge Information Centre.
