Zig Zag ramp closed

NORTH Wiltshire District Council has temporarily closed the 'Zig Zag' ramp linking Riverside Drive to Black Bridge on the cycleway in Chippenham.
Temporary repair work is due to be carried out in the new year and the structure wiill be closed until the essential work is made to the timber retaining walls supporting the ramp.
Temporary diversion signs, leading cyclists along the Tinings and Black Bridge Road onto Eastern Avenue before rejoining the cycleway have been erected and the structure has been fenced off.
North Wiltshire District Council is currently awaiting recommendations from structural engineers with regard to a temporary reapir and the long term replacmment of the structure.
