WHITEHALL Garden Centre has adopted a barn owl box to put up in their grounds in the hope it will encourage the birds to nest.
Rob Evans, founder of Wings and Talons, a Lacock-based company giving people the chance to learn about birds of prey, is behind the initiative.
The enthusiast has been studying birds of prey for around seven years and set up his company to give people experience days, educational talks and host corporate events using his birds.
Mr Evans said: "The whole point of nature is that birds of prey are an indication of a healthy environment and a balance of good food on the ground."
Businesses can sponsor the bird boxes, which Mr Evans is hoping will be put up in more locations.
He said a suitable location for the habitat has to meet a few requirements and a 10-metre corridor has to surround the nesting site to encourage a good feeding habitat.
Mr Evans added: "Whitehall is looking to create a conservation area so this box will be included in that."
Anyone wanting to sponsor a box can visit www.wingsandtalons.co.uk
