THE 10th anniversary of Wiltshire Music Centre is being celebrated next month with a free day of music, workshops and taster sessions for all the family.

Live & Free @ WMC will include performances from junk percussionists Weapons of Sound, who create music from all sorts of scrap and rubbish from hubcaps to oil cans.

Visitors will also be able to take a sneak peak backstage to see what goes on behind the scenes in a busy music venue, join in a salsa class and dance to the sounds of Afro-Cuban dance band K'Chevre or create their own music in a music technology workshop led by a Bristol-based ska, reggae and hip hop performer.

Other sessions include music making for tiny tots, open jamming sessions for budding jazz stars and a percussion workshop led by Venetia Shah-Daydu whose festival credits include Glastonbury and WOMAD.

There will also be 25 craft and plant stalls, a hog roast, Chinese noodles, Black Farmer sausages, Indian delicacies and homemade cakes.

The day will finish with a fantastic finale from the Budapest Gypsy Orchestra at 8pm.

Live & Free @ WMC runs from 10.30- 4.30pm on May 10 - for more information contact Wiltshire Music Centre box office on (01225) 860100.
