A PRIMARY school near Trowbridge has completely revamped its play area.
Staverton Church of England Primary School, in School Lane, Staverton, near Trowbridge, saved the money over a period of years and got a cash kickstart from a parent and governor school support group.
Headteacher Bruce Douglas officially opened the play area on Tuesday after they were installed over two weeks by local Holt firm Playforce.
Mr Douglas said: "The revamp was much-needed but we had to wait until we could afford the work before we went ahead.
"We've revamped old equipment and put in new items at the front and the back of the school. We've got a new pirate ship, seating around the trees and an extra carriage for the train.
"There is a new surface that is rain resistant and allows the children to play immediately after wet weather. The whole project is designed to get pupils outside and help them to learn outdoors."
