PROPOSALS for a major regeneration project in Chippenham are set to go before a government inspector today.
ASDA and Ashtenne Industrial Fund Ltd - who want to transform Langley Park - have appealed against North Wiltshire District Council's refusal of the scheme.
The £25m 52,000 sq ft store would create around 500 jobs.
The public inquiry gets under way today. A total of four planning applications are being appealed at the inquiry.
The applications were refused by North Wiltshire District Council because they did not meet criteria identified in the North Wiltshire Local Plan 2011 and an appeal will now be heard by the Government planning inspector.
The inquiry is likely to run until Friday May 23 at North Wiltshire District Council, Monkton Park, Chippenham.
