PUPILS at a Trowbridge school organised their own Fairtrade market to raise money for a good cause.
Every child at The Grove Primary School in Hazel Grove, spent a week focusing on Fairtrade issues, producing banners and leaflets for their own stall and creating the produce to sell on the day.
The event, organised by teacher Liz Osgood, was to raise money for Bishopstone Trading in Silver Street, Bradford on Avon, which helps poor people in India.
Sharon Gingell, a teaching assistant who took part in the market day, said: "We had a whole week's worth of activities in school. One half of the school focused on bananas and the other half looked at cocoa.
"The pupils produced all the visual things for the stall, like banners and posters, and also made food and other items to sell at the market.
"Wiltshire College donated some cakes to sell and we have raised about £480 for the cause."
