Family pay tribute to son

3:16pm Thursday 19th June 2008

THE family of Daniel England have paid tribute to the son they described as having a sharp sense of humour.

The 18 year old was killed along the A420 in Marshfield, where he lived, when the Ford Fusion he was driving was hit by a bus being driven by a Chippenham man.

In a statement from the family they said: "Dan was a private and shy young man with a sharp sense of humour.

"He was on his way to sit his A level exams, when he was so suddenly taken from us.

"He was looking forward to the long summer break and then taking his place at Exeter University studying history and politics.

"He will be with us forever. John, Chris,Tor and Meg."

Mr England's 14 year old sister Meg suffered injuries in the collision, which happened at 7.30am on Wednesday but is said to be back at home.

Stephen Whittaker of Southmead, Chippenham, was charged on suspicion of disqualified driving and fraud and was due to appear before magistrates today.
