A CORSHAM businessman and three of his staff have raised more than £3,000 for cancer charity Myeloma UK.
Tim Barton, who owns Wadswick County Store, decided to swim, cycle, run and ride a horse for a mile as part of Myeloma Awareness Week from June 21 to 28.
Mr Barton decided to add his own variation to the nationwide event A Mile for Myeloma by doing the four miles instead of one to raise as much money as possible.
Five years ago he became ill with the disease and as a result underwent a bone marrow transplant.
He said: "I'd like to do something like this again, but I think in a while as I couldn't ask all the customers to sponsor me again so quickly.
"They have been fantastic and really supportive.
"We decided to do four miles instead of one.
"I swam first, then ran into Neston and then rode a three wheeled bike around, as my balance is still not as good as it used to be after being ill.
"We then rode horses through Neston that had been loaned to us by customers of the shop."
The team finished their efforts in under two hours.
