I agree, leave your debate to a more appropriate time, it is neither productive or wanted.
May he rest in peace.

Sympathies to everyone he left behind, what a tragic loss of a young, talented life. I was hoping to meet him, I had heard so many good things about Matthew, but never got round to it sadly. May God rest his soul.

Matthew was like part of the family he will leave a HUGE hole in our lives and will be sorely missed. I cannot imagine how his family are feeling and send my most sincere sympathies to them. It is just wrong that he went when he did he was destined for great things. Jen cannot imagine how she is going to cope without her very best friend. Rest in peace Matthew, you will always be with us x

Perhaps Princes Harry and William would have appreciated discussions on the pros and cons of wearing seat belts in the days following their mothers fatal crash or should every heart attack victim be thought of as 'deserving it' due to lifestyle choices until proven otherwise. Whilst correct some of your comments are not really offensive (to me) you cannot tell other people what is offensive or what they should find offensive only the reader can say that for themselves! I do find your comments scrape the edge of decency and are out of place in this situation (maybe after the inquest is completed?) and while I wouldn’t try to stop you having your say there is such a thing as the right time and place! I can only hope that you never find yourself in the position of having to face criticism of your loved ones when they are no longer around to defend themselves!

Matthew – My best friend.
So unfair that such a close group of friends should have to experience the feeling of loosing a great and extremely popular person at such a young age.
Matthew had his whole life ahead of him and was destined for such great places.
He leaves a huge gap in my life and I don’t know how I am going to cope not seeing his big smile and hearing his loud mouth as he comes bounding through my back door announcing his arrival.
My sympathies go to the family, Nicky, Paul, Sam and John. As well as everybody else that has been blessed with knowing Matthew.
I will never forget you Matthew and you will ALWAYS be in my thoughts. Jen ****

From all the lovely comments here, you can see that Matthew was indeed an exceptional young man who will be very sorely and sadly missed by his many, many friends. When we think of Matthew it's this: affable, laughable, adorable and kind. A delightful son to be so very proud of, he made everyone's lives happier. Our deepest sympathies go his loving family, our thoughts are with you. Much love, the Mountford family.

Matthew - I still can't quite believe that I am sitting here writing this. When I think of things to say I am overwhelmed, where do i start? I know saying things like 'he really loved life' or 'he didn't have a bad bone in his body' sound like cliches, but they really couldn't be more fitting. Matthew was gorgeous, fun loving and always happy but most of all, he had the kindest most generous heart. His presence filled the room and his outrageous demands and audacity made us laugh so much but love him even more. He really was another member of mine and so many other people's families - bounding in, declaring the day's typically outrageous occurances that you just 'would not believe' had happened. I know he made his family and friends so proud with his strong will, determination and desereved success. I just cannot imagine you not being here - you will leave a huge void in such a close group of friends. I am so proud of you and will miss you every day my gorgeous friend. I truly am so blessed to have known you. May you rest in peace. Love you always, Luce (Goose) xxx

Matt, there's nothing I can say that everyone else hasn't already. You have touched the lives of everyone you met, and will be hugely missed. The world will certainly be a quieter and more boring place without you. You were most certainly destined for great things, and you have set us all an example to follow, to go out and grab life by the balls and not sit around waiting for things to fall in your lap. You will always feature as one of my best friends of all time, and most definitely my best source of juicy gossip! Make sure you and max go get 'em all with a score of 18.5 double clear! My thoughts and love go to all your family.xxx

This is a tribute not only to Matthew but to his family. I didnt have the pleasure of meeting Matthew as a adult but knew him as a child. He was all of the things people have said here and more. It was obvious from an early age that Matthew was a determined and talented young man, so I am not suprised to read how succesful he had become. Its a credit to his family that he maintained all of these characteristics into his adult life. Matthew will be remembered. Our sympathy goes out to all his family and friends.
