A 28-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries this morning after a collision with a Transit van on a Trowbridge industrial estate.
The collision happened at 6.40am on Canal Road at the junction with Avon Way.
The motorcyclist was riding his Honda 125R along Canal Road from the Hilperton direction towards the town centre.
He was in collision with a white Ford Transit van that had been travelling in the opposite direction along Canal Road and was turning right into Avon Way.
The motorcyclist landed more than 30ft away from the scene of the crash and his bike was completely destroyed.
He was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath with what police described as 'serious injuries'.
PC Tony Curtis, of the Central Road Policing Unit in Chippenham, said: "He was thrown about 16ft but he ended up much further down the road.
"He has definitely got some broken bones and we are waiting for an update from the hospital.
"I am appealing for any witnesses who saw either vehicle to contact me."
