A TRADITIONAL steam fair visited Wiltshire at the weekend and drew in crowds of local people.

Carters Royal Berkshire Steam Fair is a specialist travelling fairground-ride company that uses old fashioned steam powered rides and attractions.

Nostalgic visitors from Westbury and other west Wiltshire towns went along to the fair on Saturday and Sunday in fields near Bumpers Farm in Chippenham.

Carly Burgess and Liam Stall from Westbury said it was like taking a step back in time.

Stacy Holmyard, from Carters, said: "The fair has been going since the 1970s and this was the first time we visited Wiltshire.

"We brought along the steam driven merry-go-round, the steam engines, chair planes, dodgems and the old penny slot arcades, which everybody enjoyed."
