THE 35th Trowbridge Village Pump Festival took place over the weekend bringing with it world-class folk acts, warm sunshine and local beers.

The festival, held at Stowford Manor Farm near Trowbridge, was one of the biggest to date and thousands of visitors turned up to camp on site and enjoy the festivities.

The music line-up boasted roots band and folk favourite Show of Hands and singer Cara Dillon, described by the compere as the Irish Kylie Minogue', Show of Hands frontman Steve Knightley dedicated one song, The Dive, to Alan Briars, one of the original group of people who set up and ran the festival, who died in December last year.

Other big music acts included Don Mclean who performed on Sunday, when the festival received its only downpour of rain.

Rumpy Pumpy, the festival beer brewed specially for the event was in plentiful supply from local brewery and festival sponsor, Wadworth Brewery.

Alternative attractions included yoga, massage tents, singing bowls, clothes stalls and food vendors.

Many of the revellers took advantage of the warm weather to take a dip in the river Frome which runs through the festival site.

Also on sale at the festival was a CD Mr Briars produced before his death, with the help of friends.

Called Picture in a Frame, the CD is still available in Dorothy House Hospice shops.
