A MOTORIST was cut from his vehicle by emergency services after a single vehicle collision on the A350 in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A Mercedes convertible left the road between Lacock and Beanacre shortly before 4am, and collided with a tree.
The only occupant, a local man who has not been identified, had to be cut free from the wreckage by fire crews from Melksham and Trowbridge, who used hydraulic cutting equipment.
The man was driven to the Royal United Hospital in Bath by ambulance.
The road was closed for several hours, while emergency crews carried out their investigations and cleared debris from the scene.
Any witnesses to the crash are urged to contact PC 477 Mark Burnett at the Northern Roads Policing Unit in Chippenham on 0845 408 7000.
