MEMBERS of the Wessex Mead Rotary Club handed over 24 illustrated dictionaries to pupils at a third Trowbridge primary school on Tuesday.
Club members raised around £130 to buy books, which have now been donated to Bellefield Primary School, but have previously been presented to Longmeadow Primary School and Studley Green Primary School, both in Trowbridge.
Julia Davey, president of the rotary club, said the presentation at Bellefield was a great success.
"The deputy headteacher organised a presentation and got five members from the school's council to receive the books," she said.
Mrs Davey said the scheme was launched by the Rotary Club of Tower Hamlets in London and the Trowbridge club originally intended to give them to Year 6 pupils before they left school.
But they felt that donating them to the schools themselves, as a resource, was an equally good idea.
