A GROUP of daring female bikers from across Wiltshire have raised more than £3,000 for two charities from sales of their biker babes calendar.

The 2009 BOOBS (Babes On Our Bikes) calendar features 11 bikers posing on their own motorcycles in various outfits.

Mel Richmond, the organiser, said: “We wanted to show that girls ride bikes as well, and raise some money for charities.

“After we met Rod Longable, the photographer, he gave us the opportunity. Everyone was really positive about the idea and keen to get involved.“ The girls met through biker nights at The Lysley Arms pub near Chippenham and the shots were taken at the pub itself.

Since launching the calendar in November around 350 have been sold, raising £3,132, to be split between the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal and cancer charity Tenovus.

“We wanted to raise money for charities that are close to our hearts, and we’ve been really successful, “ said Ms Richmond.

“I want to say thank you to everyone who supported us “It was really good fun. The weather was great and it was such a good laugh. The outside shots were in the childrens’ play area and I think we caused quite a stir.

“It’s right by the A4 and I think there were a few near misses as we were there in not a lot of clothing.”
