WEATHER warnings are in place for Wiltshire as heavy snow storms sweep in from the continent.
The Met Office says there is a 60 per cent risk of disruption in Wiltshire due to snow, with between 5 and 10cms predicted for today in many places.
Snow has been falling heavily in some areas this afternoon with treacherous conditions reported in Warminster and Chippenham. Major delays have been reported in Warminster as police advise motorists to take extra care.
The weather warning is also in place for tomorrow.
The fleet of 40 Wiltshire County Council gritters were out on the region’s roads three times at the weekend in preparation for snow.
Gritters were out again this morning and at lunchtime.
The south east of the country has seen the worst snow for 18 years today, with all London buses pulled from service and runways at airports, including Heathrow, closed.
