Village duck race will adopt a Chinese theme

A Chinese-themed duck race will take place in the village of Holt later this month in aid of the Holt Sports Club, the new pavilion and St Katharine’s Parish Church.

The Holt Peking Duck Races will feature Chinese dragons, fortune cookies, coolie hats and spare ribs on the barbecue on Saturday, July 18.

There will be food, a bar, live music and a disco until midnight and the races themselves, which start at 6.30pm.

The event takes place in the gardens of Phillis Cottage next to The Courts in the centre of the village.

Tickets for the whole evening, including food and a free glass of wine cost £10, or £5 children and £25 for a family of four, and are available in advance from Holt Superstore, Andy Slade on 01225 783253 or Jo Lilley on 01225 783141.
