A piece of artwork designed and created by young people has been unveiled in Trowbridge.
The project called Make Your Mark resulted in a piece of public art which will be permanently displayed on The Cabin in Seymour playing field.
The project was a partnership between the Wiltshire Scrapstore and Resource Centre in Lacock, Bellefield Primary School and Trowbridge Town Council.
Jenny Payne, of Wiltshire Scrapstore, said: “We were trying to do something that would help to involve the children within their community and enable them to give something back to the area and brighten it up.
“In Seymour park there is a cabin used for community projects but we realised the children didn’t know what it was.
“We discussed this with the town council and got their permission to put pieces of artwork around the cabin.”
The children have been involved in all aspects of creating the artwork from choosing the images, designing the work and completing all the painting.
The final piece is based on the theme of Park Life, reflecting the children’s view of the park and was unveiled on Friday.
Miss Payne said: “The children were quite blown away by it all actually. They’ve been so excited about the thing from the beginning.”
The Scrapstore is now planning to do similar projects elsewhere in the county.
