A Trowbridge woman is organising a pamper party in aid of a breast cancer charity in memory of her two aunts who died from the disease.

Sarah Head, 30, of West Ashton Road, is holding an Avon Pink Pamper Party at the new Silhouettes Cafe in Trowbridge on Thursday in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Miss Head, who recently started working as an Avon lady, said she came up with the idea after seeing the idea in the Avon brochure and thought it would be a particulary appropriate cause to take up herself.

She said: “I lost two aunties to breast cancer so it’s a cause that’s close to my heart. One died quite a few years ago and the second only in the last couple of years.

“It affects so many women, people always seem to know someone who has been affected by it.

“I thought I would just do a small event at home with a small event but then someone said ‘Why don’t you do it alot bigger and have a public event?’.

“Now we’ve set up an event page on facebook and have invited as many as we can.”

The event is entry by donation and there will be a free glass of pink champagne or pink lemonade for all guests. There will be a full range of Avon products to try as well as mini massages, facials, demonstrations of products and mini makeovers.

Miss Head is also holding a raffle and each person who buys a ticket can also create a tribute to a loved one by kissing a piece of card and leaving a lip-print with the person’s name underneath. All the ‘kisses’ will be made into a large collage on the night.

Miss Head launched her fundraising campaign in The Shires Shopping Centre on Satuday where she raised £118 by selling raffle tickets and collecting donations. Raffle tickets will be sold up until 9pm on the night.

She said: “We want to raise as much as possible and this was a great start.”

The Pink Pamper Night is on Thursday November 26 from 7pm-10pm at Silhouettes Cafe, in Stone Mill next to The Shires, Trowbridge.
