A baby from Melksham who was born nine weeks’ premature is to get another taste of showbusiness when he appears in BBC show Casualty.
Harrison Triggs, now four months old, has already met Hollywood legend Nicolas Cage and is now to star in a storyline in the hospital drama next month.
His parents John Triggs, 31, and Liz Galley, 39, were approached by producers, who had asked the Royal United Hospital in Bath to help them find a premature baby for a storyline.
Harrison spent time in the hospital’s Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit after being born prematurely on October 2, weighing 3lb 10oz.
Harrison, who was allowed home in November and now weighs around 10lb 7oz, filmed scenes in December.
Mr Triggs said: “Harrison filmed for about 15 minutes a day for four days at the set in Bristol.”
Harrison and his parents got on so well with filming that they were invited back last week to shoot scenes as a whole family for a separate episode.
Mr Triggs said: “We did have speaking parts, in so far as we said ‘thanks’ and ‘bye’, and that all came about through the agency that Harrison is now signed up to in Bristol.
“When I was down there I took an autograph book and got the autographs of the cast, directors and some of the stars viewers won’t know yet.”
Harrison’s first brush with stardom came just days after he was born, when Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage and his wife Alice Kim visited the NICU unit.
The scenes featuring Harrison will broadcast around March 20, while scenes featuring the family will be shown around May 1.
