A childminder from Melksham has been honoured by Ofsted at an event recognising outstanding childcare in England.

Emma Blackmore, 34, who lives in Bowerhill and is currently studying for a foundation degree in Early Childhood Studies a Wiltshire College Trowbridge said she was thrilled to attend the event at the Guildhall in London.

The mother-of-two said: “My Ofsted inspection was back in March 2009 and lasted around three hours.

“At the end of the inspection the inspector told me that I had been graded outstanding which was just fantastic, It was an emotional moment and I could have cried.

“I always try to provide an outstanding service to all the different families, but for Ofsted to recognise as this was just amazing. I was graded outstanding in all 14 inspection categories.”

Mrs Blackmore said she had received a letter in the new year, inviting her to the outstanding providers’ event.

She said: “My husband Garry and I decided to travel to London together and we stayed over night.

“It was really nice to celebrate the success with other outstanding providers, as we all knew the hard work and commitment that is needed to achieve this status.”
