FIFTY jobs will be created when Marks & Spencer opens its Simply Food store in Trowbridge next week.
The 5,080 sq ft store in the Shires shopping centre will be located in the unit formerly used by Iceland. It is due to open on June 29 and will be one of 150 Simply Food outlets in the country.
Up to 2,000 product lines will be stocked in the store, which will have an in-house bakery as well as gift-wrapping and food ordering services.
Mark Vincent, manager of the Trowbridge store, said: "It is extremely exciting to be opening a new Simply Food store in Trowbridge, providing the very best of Marks & Spencer food in such a convenient location.
"We have a great team in place and are really looking forward to opening day. "We hope that the quality offer combined with extended opening hours will prove a hit with customers."
The store will open from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays. A recruitment campaign was launched to fill 50 part and full-time posts.
