Wiltshire GP surgeries in good health

GP surgeries in Wiltshire achieved above average satisfaction ratings from patients.

In the national GP patient access survey 93 per cent of patients in Wiltshire reported overall satisfaction with the care they got from their GP surgery, the England average was 88 per cent.

Wiltshire also fared better than the national average on subjects including the ability to book an appointment in advance and satisfaction with the opening hours.

Alison Knowles, director of strategy and communication at NHS Wiltshire, said: “We’re really pleased with the results. GPs and their teams work really hard to deliver a high standard of care to patients.

“Over the last year Wiltshire GPs were the first in the country to sign up 100 per cent to extended opening hours at every GP surgery and the results show that Wiltshire people continue to receive an excellent service from their family doctors.”
