A teenager is to face trial by judge and jury facing a firearms offence following a family row.

Josh Owen is charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

It is alleged that the 19-year-old caused Rosie Owen to believe that unlawful violence would be used against another person.

Owen, of Barnes Wallis Close, Bowerhill, Melksham, is said to have committed the offence, which relates to a BB handgun, on Monday June 14 this year.

At Swindon Crown Court on Friday Judge Euan Ambrose adjourned the case to Wednesday December 1 when he is due to face trial by jury.

Owen was released on bail on condition he lives with his aunt at Waterside Park, Devizes and observes an 8pm to 7am curfew with an electronic tag.

He is also banned from going to Barnes Wallis Close and having contact with a number of named witnesses.
