Mum Julia Office is organising a fundraising event in her daughter Kimberley’s memory, with help from her colleagues in Westbury.

The popular Kingdown School, Warminster, pupil died at Little Bridge Hospice in north Devon last April of complications stemming from a life-long congenital heart and lung condition.

Although Kimberley had been ill all her life and needed extra oxygen to help her breathe and a wheelchair to around, she was a cheerful and mischievous young woman who lived life to the full.

Her mother is organising a silent auction, which will feature a chocolate fountain, at the White Horse Country Park in Westbury on February 18, and has been delighted with the support she has already received.

Lots at the auction include a week’s holiday in Spain and a week’s holiday in Cornwall as well as a free MoT from Protyre in Westbury and a free service at Kings Motors, also in the town.

Individuals have also donated other lots, including a £100 voucher for Rowland John hairdressing in Warminster.

Becky King and Liz Carter, nurses at Eastleigh Surgery in Westbury where Mrs Office works, are helping to organise the event with proceeds going to Little Bridge House, who supported Kimberley and her family, and the Kimberley Office Memorial Fund.

Mrs King, 36, said: “Kimberley was an inspiration to everybody that met her.

“She was a beautiful little lady who lived life to the full. I can’t believe it’s nearly a year since she’s been gone.

“Little Bridge House were absolutely fantastic to Kimberley and her family and continue to offer support so the event is for a great cause.

“Businesses and individuals have donated prizes for the auction. I’ve been quite surprised by the generosity.

“White Horse Country Park have also been brilliant by giving us the venue free of charge.”

Practice manager Debbie Riddiford added: “We all knew Kimberley very well and she was a lovely young lady.

“The nurses are working very hard towards this fundraiser and we hope it’s going to be a great success.”
