As fans enjoy a feast of televised Euro 2012 football at home or at their local, the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) in Wiltshire hase useful advice to help keep everyone safe and secure.

The three-week tournament, taking place in Poland and Ukraine, reaches its climax with the final on Sunday, July 1.

The CSP has distributed three posters across the Wiltshire Police area in the run-up to the European championship containing top tips designed to ensure that supporters do not end up in trouble – and that people around them do not come to harm.

Enjoy it. Don’t spoil it

*Use a cash dispenser - if you need to - at the start of the evening before you have a drink;

* Know how you are going to get home before you leave for a night out;

* Drink responsibly: excessive drinking can put your health at risk as well as putting you at risk of violence, anti-social behaviour or theft;

* Respect those who support other teams

* If you are going into town, remember your keys, money and phone;

* If any trouble does occur, steer well clear Domestic abuse: there’s never an excuse

* Domestic violence is unacceptable;

* Passions run high in football tournaments, but there can never be a justification for assaulting your partner;

* It’s morally indefensible and perpetrators run the risk of losing everything;

* The penalty can be arrest, a court appearance, a prison sentence and a criminal record;

* Wiltshire Police are continuing to make robust use of the Domestic Violence Protection Notices and Orders to keep perpetrators away from their victims;

* Agencies will deal proactively and firmly with perpetrators, whilst supporting victims and their families.
