Students of Warminster School celebrated success this week with the publication of the International Baccalaureate Diploma results.

This year’s entry, the school’s largest since it started running the IB six years ago, achieved an average of 32 points per graduate, the UCAS equivalent of three A* grades at A Level.

The results were dominated by the success of local students, including Hannah Greening, of Trowbridge, who secured 42 points out of a maximum of 45.

Molly Smith and Rebecca Wicks, both of Warminster, achieved 39 points each, earning them more UCAS points than four A* grades at A-level.

Hannah is heading to St Andrews to read French and Arabic, while Molly and Rebecca look forward to starting Geography and English respectively at Exeter in 2013 after gap years.

Headteacher Martin Priestley said: "It is excellent to see so many candidates opting for the IB and finally achieving exceptional results in their Diplomas.

"The results this year exceeded our expectations. These results prove once again that Warminster School can stretch the very brightest to the highest levels.

"We know from our previous IB cohorts who have gone on to excel at university what a good grounding the programme delivers.

"I send all the IB students and their teachers my warmest congratulations."
