Community sculpture project to be unveiled in Box

A circle of sculptures illustrating the beginning of the world will be unveiled at Box Recreation Ground this week.

The striking design was put together by a community group under the title Box Rock Circus Project.

Corsham Area Board gave the project £1,046 to help create the sculptures which are contained within a seven metre diameter circle.

A special unveiling will take place on August 9 at 11am.

Alan MacRae, Corsham Area Board chairman and Wiltshire Council portfolio holder for libraries, heritage and culture said: "These sculptures will stop people in their tracks and provide a real educational tool in helping people to think about how the earth was formed millions of years ago.

" In my culture portfolio I am involved in many arts projects around the county and it's great to see one come to fruition right here in the Corsham area.”
