Dancing and bouncing in the streets
3:00pm Sunday 2nd September 2012 in News
LACOCK’S streets were taken over by family entertainment and more than 70 stalls selling various crafts for the village’s annual street fair on Bank Holiday Monday.
Around 3,000 people attended the all-day event which raised around £2,000 for St Cyriac’s Church and local good causes.
Highlights included morris dancing displays and performances by Chippenham Town Band as well as bouncy castles.
Graham Heard, chairman of the village fair committee, said: “We were very lucky with the weather and we had so many people turn up who all seemed to have a great day.
“There were lots of different things going on to keep everyone enter-tained. “I’d like to give a special thank you to the residents of the village, who moved their cars off the streets and gave the event great support.
“Without their backing the fair can’t really happen or be a success.”
Other attractions on the day included morris dancers, face painting, archery workshops and a hog roast.
