Bradford on Avon post office will be back in business

Bradford on Avon’s town centre post office is to reopen again on Wednesday, after being closed for the majority of the summer.

The Shambles branch was shut for about a month following an audit in May, and reopened in June with new postmistress Sue Wallace and husband Alan taking over.

However it closed again on July 13 and has remained shut since then.

Now the shop is expected to reopen on Wednesday, with the Wallaces in charge of the day-to-day running of the Post Office branch.

A Post Office spokesman said: ‘We are delighted to confirm the reopening of the Bradford on Avon Post Office branch.”

Town mayor John Potter said he was pleased to hear the branch would reopen and hoped the saga was at an end.

He said: “All the problems must be resolved finally and it will be so good to have it open again, as it is such a vital part of the town.

“I just hope it stays open this time as it provides a vital service to the town and the businesses of Bradford on Avon also benefit from it being open.”
