New 40mph limits proposed in Melksham

Wiltshire Council is consulting on proposals to introduce a 40mph speed limit on two roads in Melksham, and comments from local people need to be in by Monday.

The council wants to make the A3102 Sandridge Road 40mph from 190m east of its junction with Churchill Avenue to 55m west of its junction with New Road.

It also wants the new Melksham East Distri-butor Road to have a 40mph limit from 40m south east of Snowberry Lane to the junction with Sandridge Road.

Details of the proposals can be seen at Melksham Library, Lowbourne, during normal opening hours, until Monday.

Documents can also be seen online at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/troconsult ations.htm Comments on the proposal need to reach the council by Monday, either via an email to trafficorders@wiltshire.

gov.uk or by letter to Sustainable Transport Group, County Hall, Bythesea Road Trow-bridge BA14 8JN.

There is already a 40mph restriction along the new road from Spa Surgery past new houses anyway... also signs are up for 40mph speed limit to the roundabout from the Murco garage they're just blacked out!! Not that it will make any difference as I have already met many speeding along the 'Melksham East Distri-butor Road' in the car and on horseback!! :(
