Melksham stages older people's day

Older people in Melksham are being invited to an event at Melksham Fire Station on Thursday, with the theme Talk and Try.

The Age UK Wiltshire session is part of Older People’s Day and the charity hopes to bring older people in the community together.

 Penny Church, assistant chief executive of Age UK Wiltshire, said: “We know from talking to older people that they have a huge wealth of knowledge and experience and we are offering the opportunity for them to share this with others and try out new activities.

“Our skilled advisers will also be present, to help people check if they are claiming all the help available to make ends meet”.
