Regulars at Bradford on Avon’s The Dog & Fox have raised a glass to the pub winning a Community Hero award.
The pub, in Ashley Road, beat 36 others to be crowned the regional winner of the award set up by Enterprise, which oversees leased and tenanted pubs across the country.
Andy and Joanne Wood took over the Dog & Fox about 14 months ago and judges praised the contribution they have made to Bradford on Avon.
Mrs Wood, 46, said: “We are delighted. This award isn’t just about us, it is about our regulars who have welcomed us with open arms.”
Since taking over the pub, the Woods have launched nights for Bradford on Avon societies such as the photography club, the motorcycle group and the fishing club.
The couple were presented with a certificate and a cheque for £5,000, which will be used to make improvements to the pub.
