Matravers celebrates profitable feat
2:00pm Thursday 18th October 2012 in News
Matravers School in Westbury is celebrating one of its most successful sponsored walks on record, having raised more than £6,000.
This year’s route took in the countryside around Westbury, through Chalford to Arn Hill Down and Cradle Hill, then back again. Money raised will help fund improvements to its sports hall.
Andy Ellett, the head of Year Seven and the walk organiser, said: “We are delighted with the efforts of all the staff and pupils at Matravers, which helped make this year’s event such a great success.
“The comments received from the local community were that this was the best behaved sponsored walk yet and our pupils were a credit to Matravers.”
